What Is IIC Therapy?
Intensive in Community therapy is designed for children and adolescents experiencing significant behavioral or emotional challenges who need more intensive support than traditional outpatient therapy can provide. Unlike office-based sessions, IIC therapists meet clients where they are — at home, in school, or in their community — to build skills in real-world settings.
Who Is IIC Therapy For?
IIC therapy serves children and families enrolled in the Children's System of Care. It is typically appropriate for young people dealing with severe behavioral challenges, emotional dysregulation, trauma, family conflict, school-related behavioral issues, and difficulty functioning in daily life. Referrals come through Care Management Organizations (CMOs) and Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS).
How IIC Therapy Works at Back on Track
Our licensed therapists provide IIC sessions multiple times per week, working closely with the child, their family, and their broader support system. We use evidence-based approaches including CBT, strengths-based methods, and family-inclusive strategies. We coordinate care with CMOs, Mobile Response, schools, and other providers to ensure wraparound support.
